COVID Training
Problem: Lack of clear COVID guidelines among employees
Role: Instructional designer from analysis to development, E-learning specialist
Target Audience: Company employees (ages 30 -65)
Tools Used: Articulate Rise 360, Google Docs
Delivered: Summer 2020
Process:
For this group project, our goal was to create instructional material concerning the new COVID-19 health guidelines for A&M Cleaning & Maintenance Services, Inc. to assist them in re-opening and providing it’s cleaning services to businesses in the Tampa Bay area during summer of 2020.
One of our team members met with one of the business's managers and went over what the training objectives should be. This team member later followed up with the business contact to understand the the cleaning materials available so we could include them on the instructional content. We chose to create an Articulate Rise 360 course, as it provided a mobile friendly option. The workers of the small business didn't have a dedicated area to take the training, so we concluded that the mobile friendly option was best for the audience. This project was part of a needs assessment artifact, meaning it was mainly theory-based assignment.

We choose to work on this specific project because we wanted to give back to the Tampa Bay community. Helping a small-business was very important to the team members.

Key Takeaways/ What I would’ve done differently:
Due to the lack of time and resources, our team couldn't evaluate the content's impact. Therefore, no feedback was provided from the audience. Also, given the COVID restrictions at the time, only one team member could meet with the manager. We would have liked to have all of the three team members present to get a better understanding of the company and their goals.
